B.Des. (Hons.) (Communication and New Media)

Programme Overview

The B.Des. (Hons.) program in Communication and New Media offers the opportunity for students to gain experience in independent communication studies and acquire knowledge on the approaches and skills necessary for constructing meaning through visual media and devices, crafting compelling messages. Through their studies, students also develop an understanding of the language of imagery and graphics, as well as design elements to effectively convey ideas. The programme enables the learners to use and design for new media platforms and technologies. This program will cultivate their intellectual development through core courses, integrated studios, electives, minors, the capstone project, and extracurricular activities. The program prepares students for both further graduate education in the areas of communication, media and multimedia study, and for employment in a range of fields such as media production, motion graphics, mass communication, organizational communication, the graphic arts and web design.
