The undergraduate programmes at the School of Design and Innovation adopt an interdisciplinary approach to design education, integrating creativity, technology, humanities and social sciences. Programme Overview
The Bachelor of Design B.Des. (Hons.) is a degree programme of four-year duration offering Design Foundation in Year 1 and Specialisations in Product, Communication and New Media, Interior Environments and User Experience in Years 2, 3 and 4.
B.Des.Foundation (2025-26)
The B.Des program’s Foundation year focuses on developing the knowledge and abilities required of designers in all domains. The course emphasizes designing with the needs of the user in mind. A wide range of topics are covered in the program, such as digital tools, design aspects, material understanding, and sketching and visualization, all of which are addressed through projects for the community.

Our B.Des course would emphasize on Hand Skills, Digital Skills, Specialization Specific Skills, User Research, Knowledge of Making, Materials, Processes, Sensitivity to Aesthetics, Knowledge of Humans and their behavior, Society, Culture and Environment.
The Bachelor of Design programme will enable students to identify significant contemporary problems, inculcate critical thinking, critique conventional solutions, and challenge the status-quo to arrive at creative solutions through collaborative team efforts.
