About
Subhasis Bhattacharjee is a creative professional and design educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, and a dual postgraduate in BFA. His 25 years career is built on working with globally leading advertising agencies such as McCann Worldgroup, Cheil Worldwide, WPP Group, AdGlobal360, and Karmatech Media – Google Ignition Labs. His experience covers Advertising & Marketing Communication, Graphic Design, Illustration, Animation, Game Design, and Visual Storytelling.
Subhasis’s work has been awarded at global platforms like Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia, The United Nations & NYF, The Cheil Global Award, IAA Olive Crown, Goafest – Abby Awards, Clio Award, Pepper Creative Awards, and the among others.
Alongside his professional practice, he served as a full-time faculty member at the Jindal School of Design & Architecture (JGU) and has held visiting faculty positions at the World University of Design and École Intuit Lab in New Delhi/ NCR. His teaching encompasses Advertising, Branding, Visual Communication, Design, Storytelling, and Storyboarding.
Committed to developing the next generation of designers, Subhasis continues to combine academic mentoring with applied practice, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and effective visual communication across disciplines.

Illustrations, Design, Regional Typography, and Experimenting
My research interests focus on illustration, regional typography, and experimental design practices. I am particularly interested in exploring how illustration can serve as a powerful medium for cultural storytelling and visual expression. My work examines the role of regional typography in preserving linguistic identity and enhancing cultural representation within contemporary design contexts. Through experimentation with form, material, and technology, I aim to investigate new ways of communicating meaning, bridging tradition with innovation in visual design.
The "Minus One Project" was a highly acclaimed, eco-friendly corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign created by Cheil India (Gurgaon) for Samsung Printers. The initiative won multiple Global and Indian Awards in 2012 at the International Festival of Creativity, marking a landmark achievement for the network's South West Asia creative division.
