RV University’s School of Design & Innovation is building the kind of design culture the future demands — curious, experimental, industry-connected, and increasingly AI-aware. It was encouraging to see students tackling real problems with both creativity and thoughtful rigor.

My experience also left me optimistic about the future of design education. The energy, experimentation, and willingness to engage with emerging technologies like AI reflect an institution that is actively shaping future-ready designers.

Mrs. Haripriya

Mother of Srinath, BDes 2022

My son is currently in the 4th year of B.Des at RV University, and as a parent, I couldn’t be more grateful. He is specially enabled and RV University embraced him with understanding, patience, and genuine care. The faculty and management ensured he felt included, supported, and encouraged at every step.

Today, he is confident, skilled, and already interning at a design house — something we once thought would take much longer. We sincerely thank the Dean, the professors, and the entire RV University management for shaping his journey with such compassion and excellence.

SDI has provided a strong and supportive learning environment for aspiring designers, backed by experienced faculty members and good infrastructure. The institute consistently recognises merit and motivates students through scholarships, industry exposure and opportunities to showcase their skills and creativity. I look forward to seeing the institute further strengthen its material labs and continue setting high standards in design learning.

4th Semester, UX Design Major

SDI has really changed the way I think and observe the world around me. It has made me much more sensitive and aware of my surroundings and experiences. What I appreciate the most is that I’m never limited in what I want to explore. I also really enjoy the exposure at SDI, especially through Kriyashala, industry talks, and learning that happens not just inside the classroom but also through going out in the field for user research and observation studies, which makes the whole experience much more fun and engaging.

2nd Year, Product Design

RVU has honestly been a place where I’ve grown a lot, both creatively and personally. What I love most is how the university constantly encourages us to explore, experiment, and step out of our comfort zones. Being able to experience different specializations before choosing Product Design helped me discover what I genuinely enjoy doing. The faculty here has always been supportive and understanding, especially during stressful times, which makes a huge difference. One of the biggest highlights of my journey here was attending Kala Ghoda because the exposure, networking, and overall experience taught me so much. RVU genuinely feels like a space that has helped me become more confident in myself and more open to new experiences.

2nd year product design student

I expected to be taught when I joined in SDI. Rather, I was challenged to think. Here, we learn the importance of “process” and truly developing yourself as a designer. being in an environment of creatives pushed me to think different. Classmates aren’t competition, they are collaborators and mentors here guide us with their unique perspective. working in the workshop has made us understand why design works the way it does. I’ve developed empathy and the ability to actually solve problems, which goes beyond software or technique. Designers are shaped by SDI, not just trained.

Studying at SDI has been a really unique and creative experience for me. What I enjoy the most is how the learning environment does not feel restricted like a traditional school. The courses are comprehensive, engaging, and encourage a lot of creative freedom, which helps students explore their own ideas and design approaches confidently.

One thing that could make the experience even better would be including more field visits and trips for every specialization, as they can provide practical exposure and inspire new ideas. It would also be great to have more creative workshops that allow students to experiment, collaborate, and learn from industry professionals. Overall, SDI has been a space that truly supports creativity, innovation, and independent thinking.

I am truly grateful to SDI. The faculty are always friendly, approachable, and highly supportive of our new ideas. From incredible exposure like the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival to learning directly from industry experts, they make us industry-ready. Plus, the school supports hard work by offering merit scholarships to students.

Samriddhi Nagori

BDes_UX/UI 2023-25 Batch

My journey at RV University has been transformative both creatively and personally, preparing me to step into the professional world. I joined unsure about pursuing design, but RVU gave me the space to explore, experiment, and grow through learning beyond the classroom. The constant support from my Dean and faculty, both academically and in balancing my extracurricular journey with Special Olympics, made the experience truly meaningful.
